A Home Cooking Renaissance

Here at Abbio, we love home cooking. It’s healthier than eating out, it saves money and it gives you an opportunity to spend time with the people you care about. We’re also passionate about the tools; not only the quality and construction, but also the assortment. Despite recent trends towards larger sets of low-quality cookware, great home cooking does not require 15 different pots and pans.

With the onset of COVID, we suspected cooking habits had changed. Are Americans tired of cooking, or did they discover a new passion for it? How much cookware do Americans own, and how much do they actually use? We commissioned a survey of 1,000 U.S. adults to find out

2x as many Americans are cooking at home every day.

With the surge of COVID cases, we expected people to increasingly rely on fast food and takeout options. After all, between 2013 and 2016 about 37 percent of U.S. adults consumed at least one serving of fast food on any given day (source). In reality, Americans are going to their kitchens. They’re having fun, they’re saving money...and they’re doing it with only a few pieces of cookware.

You don’t need 15 pieces of cookware to make a great meal at home. In fact, you only need a few high-quality items. We designed The Set for exactly this reason.
