Seared Black Pepper Tuna Steak

TOOLS YOU NEED

    PREP

    • Chop chives or green onions and set aside 

     

     

    RECIPE DIRECTIONS

    1. Sprinkle tuna steaks on both sides with salt
    2. Sprinkle with coarsely cracked black pepper
    3. Heat sesame oil in large nonstick skillet over high heat
    4. Add tuna steaks and sear until brown outside and just opaque in center, about 2 minutes per side
    5. Using tongs, transfer tuna steaks to platter
    6. Add soy sauce, then sherry to same skillet
    7. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture is slightly reduced, scraping up any browned bits, about 2 minutes
    8. Spoon sauce over tuna steaks and sprinkle with chives or green onion tops
