Tuna Melt
Master the classic deli sandwich from the comfort of your home.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 can water or oil packed tuna
- 1/4 cup small-diced tomato
- 2 Tbs. minced red onion
- 1 Tbs. chopped Kalamata olives
- Fresh dill (optional)
- 1 tsp. red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 slices of hearty bread
- 1 cup grated cheese - Swiss, Cheddar, Gruyère are all great options

PREP
- Drain tuna well and set aside
- If using dill, rough chop and set aside
RECIPE DIRECTIONS
- Position a rack 8 inches from the broiler element and heat the broiler to high.
- In a medium bowl, combine the tuna, tomato, red onion, olives, dill, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Put the bread on an Abbio Sauté Pan and broil until nicely toasted - about 1 minute.
- Remove the pan from the broiler, flip the bread over, and spread the tuna over each slice.
- Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tuna and continue to broil until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown, another 1 minute or so.
